First Wheels - Razor Micromobility

Razor has been yours and your child’s first wheels for nearly twenty years. Razor believes that early active play leads to a healthy active lifestyle. Razor’s First Wheels Program is dedicated to serving communities and organizations who work with disadvantaged youth who do not have access to kick scooters that provide freedom and fun with friends and family.

Through its Razor Micromobility adult dockless electric scooter sharing program in cities across the country, Razor is committed to serving all ages to encourage active play. First Wheels GrantProgram

We are proud to support the needs of the youth across communities by providing kick scooters and other ride-on mobility products to local organizations working with youth.

Before applying, please note:

The 2021 grant cycle begins March 1, 2021 and that you can apply any time during the year.
Applications may be submitted at any time during this funding cycle. Applications will be reviewed each quarter and stay under review for up to 90 days.
Awards for kick scooters or other ride-on mobility products can range from 1 to 600 depending on need.

First Wheels Guidelines

Overview

Organizations must submit an application to be considered for funding.
Razor will be granting only a select number of applications each quarter.
Donations will be distributed every quarter. Applications are accepted all year long.

2021 Calendar

2021 Q2: Distribution by June 30.
2021 Q3: Distribution by September 30
2021 Q4: Distribution by December 31
2022 Q1: Distribution by March 31.

Organizations may only submit one application at a time and receive confirmation as to whether their application was approved or declined for the current funding cycle before submitting a new application.

Organizations are not guaranteed approval. Organizations must meet all eligibility guidelines and meet the reputational standards of Razor USA.

Selection Process

Razor USA will review the application and make donation recommendations on all submitted requests on a quarterly basis.
Razor USA reserves the right to adjust the number of ride-on mobility products awarded to each organization without prior notice.
Organizations will be notified of any decision via e-mail within 90 days of submittal. All funding decisions are final.
If an organization’s request is approved, Razor will coordinate distribution date and location.
If an organization’s request is approved, Razor will work with the organization for any appropriate social media or press release announcement about the event or distribution.
Razor reserves the right to decline an application if the organization does not meet the requirements, meets the reputational standards of Razor, or is not serving youth.
Due to limited quantities available, applications may not be approved at the time of submittal and encouraged to apply at a later time.

First Wheels Eligibility Criteria

Organizations that are eligible to apply include:

Organizations holding a current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) or (19) of the Internal Revenue Code, listed in the IRS Master File that conduct activities in the United States.
Government entities such as a state, county, or city agency, including law enforcement or fire departments, that are requesting funds exclusively for youth-based programs or events.
K-12 public or private schools, or charter schools
Churches or other faith-based organizations with a youth-based program
Veteran organizations who are addressing the needs of veteran families

All organizations must have a youth program focused around supporting disadvantaged youth or a planned event to support disadvantaged youth. Youth is defined as anyone under 18 years old.

All organizations must verify that they meet the eligibility requirements.

Applications must be completed in full and submitted to be considered.

Submitting an application does not guarantee funding.

Razor reserves the right to adjust the amount awarded to each organization without prior notice.

Note that due to the large number of requests that are received we cannot respond to every request. If your request is granted, you will be contacted within 30 days of receipt of your submission. If your event is within 90 days pf submission, we regret we will not be able to participate in the event. We encourage and suggest you submit your requests at an earlier time frame.
